Pug Party HQ hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and wish you a Happy New Year in the days to come. 2011 has been a great year for us and we're now gearing up for our next party in 2012...
Now added to the Saturday 4th February bill are two great new bands, the first of which being North London four piece, Eudora Fletcher. These guys play a speed induced, adrenaline charged, schizoid type of alternative indie punk that blends unusual cheeky pop numbers with angry dirge. Now trust me, these guys are 'proper mental' but in a good way - a little bit like your forgetful Grandad as opposed to Frank Bruno with a gun. Check out their explosive track 'Talkartoons' ...
Secondly we have Reading newcomers 'Talulah Kills'. This melodic four piece fuse the naughties guitar rock revolution (Dogs, The Strokes, The Cribs etc) with the seminal shoegaze and ephemeral music of 90's guitar laden pop. An infectious and wholly uplifting affair that will keep your feet tapping for days to come.
Don't forget we also have afro - beat tango pop from The Cracked and electro synth punk from L!ghts plus many more musical surprises to boot including eclectic guests DJs till 2am. This is the first weekend after the dead end month of January and also pay day for most - so get ready for a hedonistic marathon to kick start your very own 2012 - ALL FOR FREE! Rich Pug x
Welcome to the world of the Pug! It's here where we'll endeavour to gain your attention and keep you interested with news, releases and current affairs of all Pugparty artists, inside forthcoming event information and generally anything shocking, canine, celebrated, obscure and downright disgusting within the self imploding bosom of popular culture (the internet?!).
We are now heading into our fourth party The Pug Party DJ Takeover - a marathon mix of eclectic DJ bliss including five different DJs spinning everything flash to trash, ghetto to grime, obscure and familiar. We have upped our game with a unified social media platform www.flavors.me/pugparty and will be upgrading this site to www.pug-party.com in the next couple of weeks. Up until now our previous parties have all been packed, such a great achievement for a new, communal, free night in such an off kilter location. I do believe that this steady mix of music, people, cheap drinks and location is a winning formula that we will be carefully cultivating as we run into 2012, ensuring you all get the best out of what we can offer you for a great, jam packed, free night out in East London :)
Our first party of 2012 will be Saturday 4th Feb where we already have phenomenal and infectious afro - beat, tango popster's - The Cracked. They are simply the best and are a Pugparty favourite. Who said pensioner's don't have fun? Something is starting to happen...
Secondly, we have now confirmed one of the Berkshire's best kept secret's - L!ghts. L!ghts fuse electro-synth, punk and hilariously profound social commentary. There is no better (or worse) political and economic climate than now for this band to be heard. Any song about Stacey Slater deserves to go to number 1 in my books - FACT. The BBC describe their shows as 'riotous shouty indie synth rock, akin to someone punching a glitterball'. What's not to love about that! Check them out performing at the Josaka 12th Birthday Party...
We will be announcing two other fresh and fanstastical eclectic bands to be added to the February party bill very soon, please watch this space for details. We will also be going all out with a full multimedia production so bring your best pug outfits and memorabilia - you could be in our posh film. In the meantime I would like to say a massive thanks to all the artists that performed at our last event - this was the busiest yet. I would also like to say thank you to DJ Emily Dicks and BeeDee for some expert tune selection and most importantly to all of YOU LOT that came and continue to make us exist - thank you and power to the pug. Rich Pug x
